自從聽了Philip Glass和Leonard Cohen的音樂會後,最近一直沈迷在Cohen的歌聲之中。
他的音樂乍聽之下不怎麼討喜,尤其是早年的曲風, 總覺得太民謠了些。但大約90年代後創作的卻非常對我的味,很耐聽。每次聽都會產生新的況味,這即是經典的特質。
他的音樂是越陳越香的那型,大概也要陳年一點的聽眾比較容易喜歡他。如果早個五年聽他的音樂,我大概也不會把他放進我的愛名單上。
今天來聽Everybody Knows。首先是為了向Cohen致敬的音樂會上Rufus Wainwright唱的版本:
比原版的節奏更快、更輕盈,也因此顯得諷刺的姿態更不羈。拉丁風味濃到可以穿上裙子搖上一曲了。
接著獻上憂鬱深沈許多的原版:
這應該是最早收錄在他專輯中的樣子,1988年發行,編曲真是老派得可愛。
不過我個人比較喜歡這個長達六分鐘的live版:
貼在耳朵邊聽,人都融化了。怪不得這男人情史豐富XD

過於早熟的預感,過於老成的幸福

歌詞傷感淒美,但管風琴的編曲卻使之昇華成教堂的神聖。過往甜蜜發生的同時即預知註定失去,在幸福洋溢到幾近昏眩的當下,該如何看待那稍縱即逝的幸福?

搖滾也有神聖的時候--甜梅號 謝謝你提醒我

第五首,也是專輯的最後一首“新流浪運動”在16:42的時候,出現了人聲。
聽了這麼多次,直到今天我才發現原來在唱那英文歌詞的同時還有中文歌詞。
以一般歌曲的規則來說,歌詞出現之前的都算是前奏。當前奏長到16分42秒,歌詞卻不過短短的最後四分鐘不到。
這時,佔了4/5強的前奏已經不是前奏,曲子也不是一般的曲子。
音形重複而穩定地向前推進,推到你以為就這樣的時候,才突然出現了人聲。
本來沒有期待卻予人意外的美好。
這就加深了天啟的意味而臻於神聖了。
那是一種光,從教堂圓頂尖端透下來的那束光。

世界末日的甜蜜生活
這是以前自然捲的娃娃,現在以本名魏如萱出新專輯(妹妹居然就是現在很紅星光二班的魏如昀)。
其實對自然捲時期的她(或奇哥)雖然感覺不錯,但有時聽著聽著就覺得會不會太陽光了點,有種粉飾太平的味道(在我有些憤世嫉俗的時候),所以雖然喜歡,甚至也買了他們的第一張專輯C'est la vie,不過那喜歡卻淺淺的,好像沒法鑽進心窩去。
但這次,我很喜歡這張專輯,聽到EP中“世界末日的那個角落”時我就陷落了。
一看歌名就想到村上春樹的世界末日與冷酷異境,歌詞中確實也有些辭彙隱隱露出它與那本書的關連,即便題旨可能大不相同。不過旋律從一開始就透著一種奇異的透明感,好像整首歌和世界中隔著一層膜,本身就是世界的另一端,在那裡,很平和、很甜蜜,即使世界已到了末日。
非常喜歡這首歌,有點說不上來。
另外,“啦啦啦啦”也很可愛,唱著“請你 耳朵借給我 讓我在裡面 游啊游啊游啊游啊像條小魚” ,再配上娃娃的娃娃音,軟綿綿地像躺在蓬鬆鬆的白雲上。
“拖鞋”有些俏皮,“Downtown Cafe”撫慰人心,“香水”則有種“青春電幻物語”的味道。
總之非常推薦大家收這張專輯,而且現在買還一併送前衛花園代理的兩張西班牙專輯,都是很棒的音樂,一整個很划算!(講到最後好像是前衛花園的強力推銷員,呵)
